The Langtang Valley Trek follows the Langtang River upstream through bamboo and rhododendron forest, past mani walls, prayer flags, and chortens, to Langtang Village and on to Kyanjin Gompa at 3,870 metres, with its ancient monastery and yak cheese factory. Most trekkers spend an extra day at Kyanjin Gompa to climb Tserko Ri at 4,984 metres, one of the best and most underrated viewpoints in Nepal, with views reaching all the way into Tibet.
